Zetor
After World War II the only Czech tractors to be marketed on the world markets were Zetor tractors. At that time the tractors were manufactured in one of the largest and most respected engineering enterprices in Czechoslovakia - at Zbrojovka Brno company - and were designed by a group of designers from the former Zbrojovka car producing plant.
The prototypes of the first post war tractors were completed in November 1945. The Chamber of Commerce of the Czechoslovak Republic registered the Zetor brandname on August 17th, 1946. The Zetor brandname was created by adding the word "Zet", which is a part of the Zbrojovka trademark, to the last two letters of the word tractor - "or".
