I agree that it would be nice to know but i am pretty sure thats what this tractor is doing because it doesn't look like a harvester because theres no elevator on the machine on the rear.

Hey guys. Found this purely by accident while ego-surfing on Google -- I didn't upload this here -- so you can excuse this reply being somewhat delayed. :)
To answer your question: This photograph was taken in Norfolk (very near RAF Marham) in England. And yup, it was windrowing potatoes.
Thanks for all your comments, and thanks to this site for making use of this photograph. Cheers! :)

Thanks Lewis - found your pic on Wikipedia and the license seemed to say it was fine to use if I credited you.

Thanks Lewis. Ironic that I was stationed at RAF Marham in the seventies and now regularly work the land in that area! I thought it was going to be somewhere exotic as well!
Garve: yup, absolutely. I license my photos that way because I love seeing people doing great things with them, like you are doing on this site. Cheers a lot. :)
John: haha! Well, it *was* an extraordinarily bright and clear day, and I shot this on film which makes everything looks so much better. :) Hey, if you work the land in that area you might well know Simon who was driving the tractor at the time. I wasn't kidding about "very near"; if you had a good catapult (or maybe a trebuchet, heh heh) it might *literally* be a stone's throw from the airbase. It was in one of the two fields here north of Swaffham Road.
Lewis, don't know him as I do sick cover for a contracter and live near Sutton Bridge, I know the land pretty well though, churned them up with RAF fire engines and tractors. Used to beat through them on shoots a lot as well! Nowadays, the quiet life, grass cutting on a compact!
