One of the last County Tractors built after the origanal firm got into difficulties production moved to the Benson group at Knighton Powys some of this type were sent to the Falklands after the war to work on rebuilding the Islands infastructure at least one has now come back to the UK
The tractor I believe was a normal County 1184 modified just after County commercial cars went into demise after being bought by the Bensons group. These red Countys were meant to be a new breed of 1184's but only around 10 were ever made with 2 being sent to the Falklands and the other 8 sent to large arable farms up north. The county's was first painted in Bensons famous red livery, it then had had a newly designed cab installed - this included new glass, a moulded dashboard and electronic handbrake. The transmission and gearbox was also changed, it was changed from a constant mesh transmission to a synchromesh transmission. Due to their soon after closure and lack in numbers these red Countys are highly sortafter, this example made £46, 000 in the cheffins sale several years ago, the others were either scrapped or are in farm condition with no others appearing on the market bar this one to this day
