Big "A" Spreader

Saw this redundant spreader at Gt.Yarmouth, one of four that the company used.I remember them as very fast across the fields and the Cummings engine[I believe]sounded awesome.Would be nice if one of them could be restored and put in an agricultural museum, but they will probably go to the scrapyard

Is this one called a Terragator?

Added by Roger Mason on 04 January 2012.
You are spot on Roger, after reading your comment I Googled Terragator and watched a video of one of these awesome machines tearing across a snow covered field, although I did get it wrong about the engine as they are powered by Caterpillar.Dont know why, but we always called them big "A's" Regards Andy.

The one in the photo is a big a 2800 the terragator is a different machine. The big a does run a Cummings 280 hp (derated marine engine I think) with a four speed crash box and autobox. The machine is still in use
