Sorry John, but I'm not sure. Flora or one of the other regulars may know. There's a lot of barley grown here, though.

Thanks Colin, I am used to whopping great arable kit as I live in Norfolk and it seems out of place in the far north!

Sorry not been on this site in a long time I think I might be correct in saying this is the outfit that made a few mistakes on the Black-Isle whilst sowing barley and was highlighted in a story in the Scottish Farmer.

Welcome back Flora, I thought it didn't look right! Can you enlighten us a bit more then, please?

Sorry Flora, but this isn't the tractor and sower that made the mistake whilst sowing barley because the fields this machine sowed are all OK. it was a Simba Horsch and John Deere that made the mistakes and there is photos of the tractor and sower on this website.

I think it was this one - picture #51. Tom Henderson from Poynztfield told me about it. The on-board computer was throwing a wobbly, and this resulted in unsown strips of 4 and 5 metres scattered across the field. I noticed when I took this pic that the tractor was stopping a lot, and having to reverse to repeat areas.
